WELCOMING INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS

Over the years, since 1955 our university has gained valuable experience in specialists’ training for overseas countries. Alumni of ASTU made their way up in the countries they came from and they are now at the head of state and private industrial enterprises, engaged in commerce or achieved a success in other types of business.

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS FOR INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS

Our International Relations Department takes a special interest in the needs of overseas students. Staff who are trained to be aware of your particular requirements will help you in gaining a place on your chosen course of study and will answer any questions you may have during your stay at ASTU.

Prior to the start of your course we provide you with all necessary details.

If you want to be enrolled on the chosen program you will have to send us a copy of General Certificate of Secondary Education and fill in an application form at http://www.astu.org

If we are able to offer you a place on the course and you have been selected, we will notify you at this decision by mail. If you are considered suitable for training, to draw up the invitation you should provide us with a copy of your national passport and home address. The validity of passport is more than 6 months from the supposed date of visit.

  • a notary’s copy of the national passport in Russian.
  • a notary’s copy of birth certificate in Russian.
  • Certificate of home address

You will get ready to pay:

  • 5 USD (for the invitation registration.)
  • DHL services (100-150 USD, subject to the country.)

 

RUSSIAN LANGUAGE courses

You will need a good understanding of the Russian language. Foreign students are welcome to take up a course of Russian at the Preliminary Faculty for Overseas students. If you want to speak Russian without entering the university, you can be enrolled on the Russian language courses. (The certificate is awarded).

 

ACCOMODATION

For overseas students we propose 4 Halls of Residence. The room is 2/3 –person rooms, well-equipped, centrally-heated, study, with kitchen and bathroom facilities on the floor. The residences are self-catering, but students also have a choice of the wide range of buffets and cafeterias in the University Campus. Living in residences is a great opportunity to improve language skills and the ideal way to make new acquaintance who, very often, become life-long friends.

 

LIVING COSTS:

University enjoys a relatively low cost of living, but you will still pay sufficient funds to cover your stay and medical insurance. It is estimated that you require approximately

  • 30 USD per month for accommodation
  • 1000 USD living expenses depending on your own lifestyle per year
  • 100 USD per year for the insurance.

You must ensure that you will have enough means available to pay the fees and living costs, as international students are not allowed to take up part-time or full-time employment.

 

EDUCATION AND DEGREES

Depend on the degree program, overseas students obtain the Diploma (Bachelor Degree, Specialist, Master) and can choose the language of the supplement to Diploma.

Requirements for Post-graduate course

First of all, you should provide us with your biography, abstract on the supposed theme of the research and a copy of the Diploma certified the higher degrees.

During your study, you take up a course of the Russian language.
